SAY HELLO TO THE 2024 CANDIDATES!!
JEFF FULLER – Hello everyone. My name is Jeff Fuller and I am running to be on The Board at SCRA. I have been a property owner since 2010 but I have recognized SCRA for many years before that. I believe that Scare Canyon is a place for families, trail riding, hunting, and enjoying the scenery and amazing wildlife. Protecting all that Scare Canyon has to offer and helping make future changes that will benefit members is something I feel I could bring to the table. We have a great Board of Directors full of strong board members that want to improve the quality and preservation of Scare Canyon. We have a lot more we can do to improve more in the future. I feel I would be a valuable asset and would appreciate your vote to be a Board member at SCRA. Thank you for your time and consideration.
KENT BUTTERS – HELLO, My name is Kent Butters and I have resided in the Ogden area for the past 45 years. I own and operate C.E. Butters Construction in Harrisville, UT. I am an owner of properties in SCRA canyon and also the representative for The Hideout. I have been an active board member of Scare Canyon for the past 7 years, together with the Hideout we have facilitated the partnership between the two entities and have upgraded and maintained over three miles of the main road. During my most recent tenure on the SCRA board, all legal debts were settled and new accounting practices were implemented. My own experiences and guidance have been instrumental to the continual progression of the community, and my continued seat on the board will help ensure the integrity of all properties. I am looking forward to help plan and implement the development of reliable water systems for cabins and fire control. Working together, we can bridge our ideas and create a community that will allow us all to own our personal slice of heaven. Our door is always open, so stop by and say hello.
Sincerely, Kent Butters
JIM HASKETT – Jim was quick to offer his help when the prior Treasurer resigned from the Board with no prior notice and not fulfilling his tenure. Newer on the mountain Jim and his family purchased a couple trailers, a 40 acre parcel east of Gresham’s Knob and employed Kent Butters to carve out a space on the mountain and help them build a new family get away up on the mountain. Not only is Scare Canyon a nice escape from everyday life, but we get to interact with our family in a different way than at home. I’m grateful we had a dream and we are very glad that we have introduced our kids to something new in their life. We are learning to enjoy the outdoors and enjoy nature and put the electronics away. We enjoy the beautiful scenery, the talks around the campfire and seeing the stars. We are blessed and grateful for this opportunity to spend time in such a beautiful place. I would be honored to serve on the Board and help SCRA proper.
JOSH SACKETT – Hello, my name is Josh Sackett and I would like to represent you on our Scare Canyon Board. I was born and raised in Paradise UT and my family has been SCRA landowners since the 80s. I own a small business, Cache Appliance, and it is growing fast. I have multiple employees and have loved the challenges and lessons of leadership that owning my business has afforded me. If elected to represent you, I want to accomplish a handful of things during my term that I feel are important. I want to help build a process in how issues are handled within our community, so everyone is treated equally and respectfully. I want to help build a playbook that is passed down from board members to board members that help us build off of the past, not continue to repeat it. Most importantly, I want to help improve security and safety for our community.
